                     Approve Ordinance

 

ITEM SUMMARY: 

                     As a result of House Bill 1819 adopted by the Texas Legislature and signed into effect on September 1, 2023, juvenile curfew ordinances are no longer enforceable.

                     Article VIII, of Chapter 70 “Curfew Hours” of the Code of Ordinances, City of McKinney, Texas (“McKinney Code”), falls under this definition.

                     The proposed ordinance will repeal and delete this Article and Sections of the McKinney Code.

 

BACKGROUND INFORMATION: 

                     The previous ordinance was adopted on May 18, 2018 and renewed May 15, 2021.
