RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:                     

                     Approval of Resolution to accept and implement the grant, if awarded, to fund the purchase of an enclosed trailer for storage and transport of the McKinney Fire Department’s ATV.

 

ITEM SUMMARY: 

                     The Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation’s mission is to impact the lifesaving capabilities and the lives of local heroes and their communities by providing lifesaving equipment and prevention education tools to first responders, non-profits and public safety organizations.

                     This project will fund an enclosed trailer for MFD’s ATV that will be used for patient care and transport for special events and also as a wildland Rapid Extraction Module Support (REMS) vehicle to be deployed through the Texas Emergency Medical Task Force (EMTF) as part of a wildland support package attached to wildland strike teams.

 

BACKGROUND INFORMATION: 

                     Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation was founded in 2005 in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Funding areas include: lifesaving equipment, prevention education, scholarship and continued education and disaster relief.
