COUNCIL GOAL: Safe and Secure Community and Operational Excellence

MEETING DATE: March 5, 2024

DEPARTMENT: Fire

CONTACT: Paul Dow, Fire Chief
Jim Floyd, Assistant Fire Chief of Administration

RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
* Approval of Resolution to accept and implement the grant, if awarded, to fund the purchase of a technical rescue fire apparatus.

ITEM SUMMARY:
* This request is to purchase a technical rescue response apparatus.
* Technical rescue involves specialized tools and skills for various complex rescue scenarios, such as advanced vehicle extrication, confined space, rope, trench, structural collapse, and swift water rescue. FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
* AFG is a 90% federal / 10% local cost share for jurisdictions with a population of 20,000 to 1,000,000.
* The amount of the grant request is for $1,100,000 for the purchase of a technical rescue response apparatus. The C...
