RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:

                     Approval of Resolution

 

ITEM SUMMARY:

                     This Resolution authorizes the City Manager to execute a contract and all necessary change orders with FNH Construction, LLC., to provide additional construction services for the Accessibility Improvements (Eastside Phase 2) CIP project ST1834 increasing the not to exceed fee from $1,900,000 to a total aggregate contract amount, inclusive of any additional change order, not to exceed $2,235,000.

 

BACKGROUND INFORMATION: 

                     FNH Construction, LLC., is currently under contract with the City for construction services related to the Accessibility Improvements (Eastside Phase 2).

                     As construction on the project has progressed, additional construction services have been necessary due to differences between the design plans and field conditions, including the construction of retaining walls, curbs, and additional steps.  Additional changes were implemented in response to residents’ concerns, including tree removal, driveway replacement, additional steps, and shifted sidewalk alignment.

                     FNH Construction LLC submitted an estimate of $324,000 for this change order to complete the construction of this project.

FINANCIAL SUMMARY:

                     This Resolution authorizes a change order with FNH Construction, LLC., for an increase in the not to exceed contract amount from $1,900,000 to a total aggregate contract amount, inclusive of any additional change order, not to exceed $2,235,000.

                     Funding for this change order is included in the CIP project ST1834.

                     With the approval of this item, $618 will remain in ST1834
