RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION: Elect a TIRZ1 Board Vice Chair with a term effective for calendar year 2024 until December 31, 2024.
ITEM SUMMARY:
• This item resumes from the TIRZ1 Meeting of January 16, 2024.
• The TIRZ1 Bylaws, most recently amended by the adoption of City Council Ordinance No. 2017-01-010, state
“Each year the City Council shall annually designate one (1) member of the Board of Directors to serve as chairman for a one (1)- year term that begins on January 1 of the following year. The Board of Directors shall elect from its members a vice chairman to preside in the absence of the chairman or when there is a vacancy in the office of chairman.”
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• On December 5, 2023, the City Council designated Charlie Philips to serve as TIRZ1 Chair for the calendar year 2024.
• Rick Franklin was the most recent TIRZ1 Vice Chair, elected for the calendar year 2023 (expired December 31, 2023).
