RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
* Approve the Resolution as proposed.
ITEM SUMMARY:
* This Resolution amends the 2016 - 2020 Capital Improvements Program, by increasing the Community Center Patio Project budget, PK4252, by $570,000 by transferring $350,000 from PK4325 Parks Accessibility and $220,000 from PK4399 Project Umbrella.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
* The Community Center Patio Project (PK4252) is a FY14-15 Capital Improvements Project funded by previously issued bonds in an amount of $500,000.
* An additional $100,000 of Park Accessibility funds, PK4325, approved in the FY 14-15 Budget were reserved for the project.
* As part of the FY 15-16 budget process, MCDC allocated an additional amount of $250,000 for the Community Center Patio Project.
* The FY 15-16 MCDC budget also included a Project Umbrella, PK4399, in an amount of $250,000 for use toward any other approved project including the Community Center Patio Project.
* The Community Center Patio Project was bid in a manner consistent with State Law.
* Three bids were submitted on February 4, 2016 with the lowest construction bid coming in at $878,397 including the base bid and three bid alternates.
* The ability to award the construction bid and utilize the funds available for this project, is contingent on transferring the aforementioned funds into the Community Center Patio Project, PK4352, as noted in the Item Summary.
* An accompanying Resolution to enter into a construction contract is also on this agenda for Council's consideration.
