RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
* Approval of the Resolution.

ITEM SUMMARY:
* This Resolution authorizes a contract amendment with Architects Phelps/Wood related to the design and construction of the Community Center Patio project for an additional $12,500 and total amount not to exceed $72,400.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
* On April 15, 2014, a professional services contract was authorized to provide architectural and engineering services related to the design and construction of the Community Center patio for a not to exceed amount of $60,000. This amount included basic services valued at $55,000 and a design contingency of $5,000.
* The project bid in April 2015, with only one bid being submitted.
* The bid was over budget, the bid was rejected, and staff assessed the feasibility of project rebidding.
* Additional funds for the project were approved in the FY 15-16 Budget.
* Additional funds were added as needed to cover additional design fees as well as construction.
* In order to expend the funds designated for the additional design services, a contract amendment to the professional services contract is needed.
* The contract amendment would add $12,400 to the design contract and increase the not to exceed amount to $72,400.
* The project rebid on May 3, 2016, with three bids being submitted.
