RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
* Approval of Resolution.
ITEM SUMMARY:
* This Resolution authorizes a contract with Alliance Geotechnical Group, Inc. to provide materials testing and inspection services for the construction of the WA8132 - Redbud Pump Station Site Development project, for an amount not to exceed $94,000.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
* Alliance Geotechnical Group, Inc. submitted a response to RFQ 15-05 for Miscellaneous Geotechnical and Material Testing services. They were one of three firms shortlisted by City Council on March 3, 2015.
* Alliance Geotechnical Group, Inc. has successfully performed in a similar capacity on numerous City projects.
* Construction materials testing ensures that construction-related materials used are within or above minimum specifications required by the City of McKinney Engineering Department.
* All testing will be documented through the duration of construction and any failed test will provide the City with means to require corrective action by the Contractor.
* Material testing and inspection services include the following:
o Mass Grading/Lime Subgrade and Foundation Subgrade
o Utility Trench Backfill Compaction
o Concrete and Reinforcing Steel
o Masonry
o Structural Steel - Field Inspection
o Wood Framing Inspection
