RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
* Approval of the resolution.
ITEM SUMMARY:
* This resolution authorizes the City Manager to execute a contract and all necessary change orders with DDM Construction Corporation for the construction of the NRCS Lake 4 Dam Rehabilitation Project for a total contract amount not to exceed $5,500,000.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
* This dam, known locally as Brinkmann Ranch Lake, is located north of US 380 between Lake Forest Drive and Hardin Boulevard. It does not meet current safety standards. A failure of the dam would result in significant property damage and the potential loss of life.
* The Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) prepared the construction plans for this project.
* Two permanent drainage easements, two temporary construction easements, and one temporary access easement have been acquired from the property owner, Baxter Brinkmann, for this project.
* Five bids were received for this project at the bid opening on May 10, 2018. The following is a summary:
