RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
* Approval of Resolution.

ITEM SUMMARY:
* This Resolution authorizes a contract with Kleinfelder to provide materials testing services during the construction of the CO1902 - Main Replacements & Street Rehab (Northwood Park / Westwood Park Area) Project, for an amount not to exceed $89,000.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
* A concurrent item is included on the Council Agenda recommending award of a construction contract for the CO1902 - Main Replacements & Street Rehab (Northwood Park / Westwood Park Area) Project.
* Material testing services will be required on the project to ensure construction materials used by the contractor meet or exceed City requirements.
* Kleinfelder submitted a response to RFQ 18-22 for miscellaneous geotechnical and materials testing services. They were one of five firms shortlisted by City Council on March 6, 2018.
* Kleinfelder has successfully performed in a similar capacity on numerous City projects.
* Kleinfelder has submitted a proposal for their professional services in the amount of $77,840.
* Reimbursement for materials testing services provided will be made based on actual time and materials billing in an amount not to exceed the estimated proposal amount.

FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
* The Resolution authorizes a contract with Kleinfelder for an amount not to exceed $89,000.
