RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
* Approval of Resolution.
ITEM SUMMARY:
* This Resolution approves a list of qualified firms to provide professional engineering services for traffic engineering.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
* The City of McKinney utilizes consultants to provide professional engineering services for traffic engineering design and analysis.
* These services typically include design and/or analysis for traffic signals, traffic signal timing, roundabouts, roadway illumination, intelligent transportation systems (ITS), and various traffic studies.
* The City of McKinney issued a request for qualifications (21-19RFQ) for professional engineering services for traffic engineering in November 2020.
* Twenty-eight (28) professional engineering firms submitted statements of qualification in response to the RFQ.
* A committee of four staff members from the Engineering department reviewed and ranked the statements of qualifications based on the following criteria:
o Past Experience of Firm and Team Members on Comparable Projects
o Qualification of Firm and Project Team Members
o Project Approach for Each Category
o Quality Assurance / Quality Control (QA/QC)
o Past Project Record with City of McKinney
o Responsiveness of Qualifications
o Firm Office Location within City of McKinney limits
