ITEM SUMMARY:
• This Resolution authorizes award of a fixed price contract with The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, of Akron, Ohio for the Purchase and Delivery of Tires.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• The purpose of this contract is to provide the Fleet Department with the ability to obtain tires under a fixed price contract on an as needed basis.
• The City issued Invitation to Bid 23-14FP, Purchase and Delivery of Tires on January 29, 2023.
o Advertised in McKinney Courier Gazette
o Posted on McKinney TV
o Thirty (30) matching eBid supplier notifications which included three (3) Historically Underutilized Business (HUB) suppliers
• In response to all notices published, three (3) bids were received on February 16, 2023, from the following suppliers:
o Southern Tire Mart, LLC
o The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company
o Thomason Tire, Inc.
• An evaluation team comprised of City staff, reviewed and ranked the bids based on the following criteria:
o 40 Points - Purchase Price
o 40 Points - Bidder’s Ability to Meet the City’s Needs
o 20 Points - Reputation of the Bidder and of the Bidder’s Goods or Services Verified through Reference Checks
• The evaluation team recommends The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company as the best value for the City.
• Contract shall commence on date of award and continue for a two (2) year period.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• Funding for these services is budgeted in account 002-9999-603-8415.
