RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
* Approval of Resolution.

ITEM SUMMARY:
* This Resolution authorizes a contract with Civil Consulting Group, PLLC to provide consulting professional engineering services for the design of the extension of Ridge Road from US 380 to Wilmeth Road for an amount not to exceed $1,180,000.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
* This project will provide design for a new alignment of Ridge Road (per the adopted Thoroughfare Plan) from its current terminus at US 380 to the future intersection with Wilmeth Road.
* Future construction of this roadway will provide an additional arterial route north of US 380 (currently only provided by Lake Forest Drive) serving the developments of Auburn Hills, Wilmeth Ridge North, Heatherwood, and Robinson Ridge. In addition a future school site has been identified within the Auburn Hills development which would be served by this extension of Ridge Road prior to being placed in operation. As with all thoroughfare projects, it is also anticipated to support and enhance continued economic development in the general vicinity.
* The project will also include the construction of one of the key bridge structures identified in the Northwest Sector Study helping to open the area for additional development.
* Civil Consulting Group, PLLC submitted a response to RFQ 15-38 for Major Roadway Design. They were one of ten firms shortlisted by City Council on October 20, 2015. They were selected from this group ...
