RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
• Staff recommends approval of the proposed right-of-way abandonment.
ITEM SUMMARY:
• Staff received a request to abandon a portion of an unnamed alley located south of Andrews Street and north of Anthony Street, approximately 300 feet east of Railroad Street, being part of the Geo A. Wilson Addition.
• The right-of-way consists of an area 12 feet wide extending from Anthony Street to 195 feet north and containing approximately 0.05 acres.
• A variable width Access, Utility, & Drainage Easement is retained by the City of McKinney over the entirety of the vacated right-of-way.
• Public hearing notices were sent to all property owners within 200 feet of the requested abandonment, and a legal notice was published in the McKinney Courier-Gazette. As of May 3, 2023, staff has received no comments in support of or opposition to this request.
• All owners adjacent to the right-of-way have signed a petition supporting the requested abandonment.

• An application and supporting documentation for the requested abandonment were submitted on January 26, 2023.
